THE All African Students Union (ASU) has expressed their support for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde, in the coming elections.

The students, who presented an award of excellence for reputable personality in governance to the SDP candidate, said many politicians had disappointed the youth, hence their decision to support him because of the qualities of a dependable and reliable leadership he exhibited.
The leader of the students, Mr Oriyomi Oloyede, said: “You have proved to be different and that is why we are with you. In you, we have found new hope and we believe the future of youths under your leadership will be better secured.”

The students, however, promised to hold a mass rally involving students from universities, polytechnics and colleges of education to drive home their support for Makinde.

In his response, Makinde noted that he’s concerned about the future of the youths urged them to conduct their activities within the laws of the land, adding that “We will do our best to secure your future. I really appreciate the recognition the award and this is a challenge to do more for the people.”
